Miss Petra Wonders

Petra Wonders grew up in the Midwest, attended Bethel College for an art teaching degree, and currently resides in Minneapolis. Before teaching at Southwest, she spent three years working in international adoption and spent significant time in Eastern Europe.

As an artist, Miss Wonders likes to paint… but currently is found painting things like walls, in her newly acquired fixer upper. Her favorite free time activities include running, reading (juvenile fiction), gardening, and studying Russian. Miss Wonders thinks that teaching art is just about the best job you could have, and loves the great staff and super students of Southwest.

The 2007-2008 school year is Miss Wonders’ third year teaching at Southwest. She teaches all the Visual Arts classes at Southwest and oversees the set painting for theater productions.
