The student body of Southwest Christian is led by a Student Council which actively serves and encourages the community through a variety of activities, events, and policy-making.
The Student Council is comprised of elected students.
The Class Presidents and Vice Presidents (with the exception of the freshman class) are elected into office each spring. Freshman elections are held in late fall. Anyone student is invited to run for an office in his/her class. Student Council meets every other Wednesday morning before school.
Student committees are formed in the fall of each year. Each committee elects a committee chair to sit on the Student Council. Student Committees meet every other Wednesday morning before school, following the Student Council meeting.
This committee is focused on the encouragement of the student body and Southwest teachers and staff. This is done through birthday recognition, class appreciation days and other special events and activities throughout the year.
This Committee plans service projects in the community and invites the student body to serve.
This Committee plans social activities such as the fall square dance, spring sock hop, "box-giving" lunches, chivalry day, and much more!
This Committee helps students to make the most of spiritual life week, Encounter (chapel), and other events, plus offers a student-led Bible study.
This Committee generates school enthusiasm for attending games and cheering on the STARS and plans fan themes!
Student Ambassadors are a group of select student leaders who are role models and represent the student body of Southwest with a positive attitude, enthusiasm for the school, and Christ-like character. Ambassadors offer a warm welcome and a comprehensive understanding of Southwest's educational opportunities and student experience for prospective students and their families. Student Ambassadors embody Southwest's vision to develop mature disciples of Jesus Christ who seek to know, live and proclaim the Truth and glorify God through academic, artistic and athletic excellence.
