Academics
At Southwest Christian we believe the high school years are highly significant in shaping young lives.
Academic Overview
We assist students in developing a Christian worldview that will guide them into the future—a worldview that contrasts dramatically with the secular culture of our day.
A strong academic program promotes both the learning of intellectual content and the understanding of its importance in God’s overall purpose.
Southwest Christian also provides a caring environment in which every student is known and valued. Small class sizes, Christ-centered teachers, discipleship groups, and a wide variety of co-curricular opportunities help students grow as mature disciples.
Teaching for Transformation
Teaching for Transformation (TfT) is a framework used to help activate the SWCHS vision in the classrooms. Each faculty has a "deep hope" listed in their website bio. Students are empowered to see the story of God’s kingdom and invited to live the story. Classroom activities and instruction are aimed at helping students to see the deeper connections between the content and God’s story. Multiple days of professional development are set aside each year for deepening TfT practices.
