Student Life

Our goal is for each student to know they belong. We want them to experience a friendly, deep, and rich community. High school is a fantastic time to explore different activities and discover what passions God has wired students with. We believe our community provides many experiences for students to get involved—either as a leader or participant—trying new activities and striving in programs they are passionate about.

Student life begins with a common vision to seek, know, live and proclaim the Truth of Jesus Christ and expands into all areas of life for the student. Each student is loved and valued as a child of God and then encouraged to grow in their love for God and others.

At the start of their time at Southwest Christian, each student will be connected to a small group of other students in a discipleship group. This is a great starting point for connection, social and service opportunities, and individual spiritual growth. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to worship together as a student body and within small group settings. Students will have the chance to serve, share, and witness through Southwest Christian’s all-school service days and will be challenged to grow academically and relationally. Students will grow on the athletic field, in the fine arts, and within many social gatherings and community building events.

Throughout their time at SWCHS, students will have opportunities to connect, participate, evangelize, and serve.

While we love the start of summer and a day off as much as anyone, we want to reflect on the real meaning of this day: to remember those who died serving our country. They put themselves in harm’s way so that the freedoms enshrined in our amendments could be ours. Even as you enjoy this day, reflect on the fallen. ...

Congratulations to Daniel Bozanich on being selected for the Minnesota Music Educators Association All-State Symphonic Band Ensemble!

Students audition with etudes, scales and excerpts, and only the most extraordinary are chosen. This award represents many hours of practice with Mrs. DeVries, head of SWC’s instrumental program, to assemble his submission, plus years of hard work in private lessons.

To be selected to this group is an honor given only to exceptional music students who have been chosen among the top high school instrumentalists in the state of MN, and we are very proud of Daniel’s hard work to achieve this accomplishment!
