Our goal is for each student to know they belong. We want them to experience a friendly, deep, and rich community. High school is a fantastic time to explore different activities and discover what passions God has wired students with. We believe our community provides many experiences for students to get involved—either as a leader or participant—trying new activities and striving in programs they are passionate about.
Student life begins with a common vision to seek, know, live and proclaim the Truth of Jesus Christ and expands into all areas of life for the student. Each student is loved and valued as a child of God and then encouraged to grow in their love for God and others.
At the start of their time at Southwest Christian, each student will be connected to a small group of other students in a discipleship group. This is a great starting point for connection, social and service opportunities, and individual spiritual growth. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to worship together as a student body and within small group settings. Students will have the chance to serve, share, and witness through Southwest Christian’s all-school service days and will be challenged to grow academically and relationally. Students will grow on the athletic field, in the fine arts, and within many social gatherings and community building events.
We are grateful to live in a country that gives our school the freedom to train disciples in the hope, love, and knowledge of Jesus Christ. We wish you and your family a wonderful day celebrating our nation!
School may be out for summer, but our campus is still hopping: this week, modification of the old entrance into more useful space, clay camp for some delightful middle grade peeps, big toys excavating for our new construction, and soccer camp!

We are so proud of our runners! This is a terrific accomplishment! Great run, Grethe Helseth, Ada Dekkers, and Mehlayna Straub! Finally, we wish Class of 2022 graduate Callie Coughlin the best as she heads to Liberty University in the fall!
First, the bad news: our math teacher, Mr. DeJong, is leaving SWCHS next year to pursue a new opportunity in the corporate world. Congratulations to Mr. DeJong!
The good news is that we have an open math teacher position! This role will teach Algebra 2, Statistics, and Pre-Calculus. We are looking for teachers who love teenagers and math, and who know how to make complicated ideas clear.
Please visit swchs.org/employment for the job description, and tell people about this role!
What a beautiful evening to celebrate breaking ground on our athletic expansion! Thank you to everyone who came to support this project, especially the Board, coaches and staff. We are excited for the transformation of this field!
Tonight’s the night! We’re breaking ground on the new athletic expansion at SWCHS at 7 pm! We are excited for this project to begin!
Today we honor our military and remember those who died in service to our nation.
If you’ve ever wondered why you see poppy flowers in memorials on Memorial Day, scroll through our photos to read the poem written by a soldier in WWI whose words inspire somber reflection.
Welcome to campus #ktis! Thank you for helping us celebrate the last day of school with music and treats!

Our business consulting class works all spring to solve problems for local businesses and nonprofits. This year, our teams helped Grace Church, Lunds & Byerly's, and Crown College.
Some of the comments from the businesses:
"I have worked with MBA groups in the past and I would put your presentation up against any of theirs."
"You've proposed things that we can immediately implement."
"I was so impressed; my hope is that I can raise my children to be as responsible and well-spoke as you."
"The volume of the work you did was incredible."
We are so proud of the ways our students brought real solutions to area partners, and how well they represent themselves and our school to our community!
