The Southwest Christian High School Engineering Team competed in the Shell Eco-Marathon Mileage Challenge held April 7-11 in Indianapolis, Ind. The team finished eighth among 27 teams in the Battery-Electric field.

Pete Tornquist has been named the Southwest Christian High School Head Baseball Coach ahead of the 2026 season. Tornquist currently serves as the SWCHS Dean of Students in addition to his coaching responsibilities.

The Southwest Christian High School DECA chapter sent 37 students to compete at the State Career Development Conference, with 10 students heading to Atlanta, Georgia to represent the school at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) April 25-29.

The Southwest Christian High School Athletic Department has named Coral Hangge as the new Girls Volleyball Coach. Hangge joins the Stars after most recently leading the programs at Eastview High School and Hopkins High School. She also serves as the Head Coach for the Vital Volleyball Club's 17-1 team.

A group of 17 Southwest Christian High School students and chaperones traveled to Michigan March 5-9 for a long weekend of service and fellowship in the Detroit community. In its third year, the trip provided an opportunity for SWCHS students to engage with Detroit community leaders and residents in a zip code that was economically devastated at the beginning of the 21st century.

The Southwest Christian High School Engineering Principles and Design students presented their HUNCH (High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware) projects to NASA engineers on Thursday, February 26 at the Hennepin County Medical Center Simulation Center. The teams are now awaiting results to see if they will advance to the NASA-HUNCH Design Showcase, scheduled for April 27–29 in Houston, Texas.
