Boys Soccer Team Wins State Championship

Southwest Christian won the boys’ soccer state tournament championship game on November 6, 2021.

The score was 3-0 with all the goals in the second half.  The first goal was by senior Jon Brain with an assist from defender Camden Mellema, the second by Sam Widdifield off an assist from Jake Bettin, and finally, Brain again off a ball from Widdifield.  Goaltender Adam Tebbs, a Mr. Soccer finalist, kept the ball out of the SWC net the entire tournament, including a PK during the final game.

Tebbs, Brain, and Widdifield were named to the Class A All-Tournament team.  Tebbs was also invited to play in the MSHSSCA Coaches Association Game.

The state championship is the second in SWCHS history, the first since volleyball won in 2013.
