Dr. Benson’s Science Trip to TRIA
Published December 4, 2018
Dr. Benson brought eight students interested in pursing a career in nursing, orthopedics, and other medical professions to TRIA in Edina on Tuesday afternoon.
The groups spent the afternoon outside of the classroom hearing from TRIA staff including a physician’s assistant, a physical therapist, and a orthopedic surgeon. The students learned about the process of being in the medical industry as they enter into college. The professionals shared their personal pathway to success at TRIA and practical steps the students should take in their collegiate years.
The showed a video of an ACL surgery, allowing students to experience the surgeries being done at TRIA.
In the past few years, SWCHS has formed an amazing partnership with Brent Veninga who has networked with top companies in the Twin Cities to allow our students to learn outside of the classroom. Each time, the students walk away with a heightened passion for learning as they can see what studying and hard work leads to in the future.
