Robotics Earns Blue Ribbon at the Minnesota State Fair.
Published August 28, 2019
Southwest Christian High School Robotics, a.k.a. “The Warehouse Crew,” earned the Blue Ribbon in their category at the Great Minnesota Get Together. On top of that, the team won the “Sweepstakes Ribbon for Technology.” The Sweepstakes Ribbon is given to represent the entry as the best of the Blue Ribbons awarded for technology exhibits. The team spent a good portion of the summer completely disassembling the robot, making new parts where needed, cleaning up parts that could be reused, having the parts anodized, then reassembling, re-wiring the robot, and preparing the write up that accompanies the the entry to make it into the award winner it is.
A big congratulations to the students for their efforts to get all this work done. A special shout out goes to Ben Solberg and Zach Solberg for the many hours they put in leading the charge to get the work done. Anyone who can make it the State Fair this weekend, should go to the Education Building to see the robot on display!
Some of our students will be demonstrating the robot in action on Saturday August 31 at 10 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m. At 1 p.m., they will be participating in the parade around the fair grounds.
The robot and those beautiful blue ribbons will be on display after the State Fair ends at the school.
