DECA 2025-26 Updates!
Interested in DECA at SWCHS? DECA is open to all sophomores, juniors, and seniors!
First-year DECA students:
- Meet Tuesdays during seventh hour (open hour for DECA students) for the first semester.
- The first meeting time will be Tuesday, August 19, in the Media Center.
- DECA is not an academic class, but attendance is required to compete.
- If your schedule needs to be adjusted to have seventh hour open, please contact your counselor.
- If you are unable to change your schedule, please contact the DECA Advisor, Mrs. Molin, at m_molin@swchs.org.
All DECA Students (First-Year & Returning)
- Meet 1-2 times per month for club meetings.
- First club meeting: The first meeting is Thursday, August 21, at 7:30 a.m. in the Cafeteria.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, hospitality, finance, and management. Students will study real-world business concepts, connect with local business professionals, develop leadership and professional speaking skills, and serve on a DECA Team: Hospitality, Networking, Finance, Stock Market Game, Marketing, or Virtual Business Challenge. Numerous opportunities are available to sharpen leadership and communication skills.
Students are encouraged to take Introduction to Business and Entrepreneurship in Action to drive the development of business knowledge for DECA.
All DECA students will compete at DECA Districts in January. If students qualify for DECA State, they will spend three days in downtown Minneapolis competing at the State Competition in March. If students advance to Internationals, they will have the option of traveling to ICDC in April.
